Unformatted text preview: ereotypes

them.

I
feel
like
my
 race
has
never
posed
any
problems
with
prejudice
or
discrimination
for
me.

I
wonder
how
 different
my
life
would
be
if
I
were
not
Caucasian.

Would
I
have
any
examples
of
discrimination
 because
of
my
race?
Would
I
have
many?
I
would
be
interested
in
finding
out
how
other
races
 perceive
me
and
hear
their
personal
experiences.

very
well
articulated?

 In
addition,
I
identify
myself
with
my
middle
class
background.

I
believe
that
my
 background
has
allowed
me
to
engage
in
many
activities
and
buy
most
things
that
I
wanted.

It
 also
has
made
me
realize
what
I
cannot
afford
to
do.

I
believe
it
has
given
me
a
good
realistic
 view
of
the
things
I
really
need
and
do
not
need
in
my
life.
My
family
tended
to
focus
on
 spending
money
on
activities
to
do
together
rather
than
the
material
things.

Growing
up,
all
of
 my
friends
were
from
middle
class
families
and
had
all
the
things
they
needed.

In
this
way,
I
 think
we
took
money
for
granted
because
we
never
knew
what
it
was
like
not
to
have
the
 privilege
of
money.

Now
with
the
poor
economy,
my
dad
has
lost
business
as
an
engineer
and
 makes
less
money.

Income
for
my
family
is
also
lower
because
my
mom
retired
from
teaching
 and
got
a
part‐time
job.

This
has
changed
how
we
spend
money.

We
now
value
couponing
and
 do
not
shop
for
fun
like
we
used
to.

 My
family
experiences
have
affected
my
view
on
money
and
our
family’s
socioeconomic
 status.

I
believe
the
economic...
