History 2 Western Civilization 2 The revolutions of the 1830’s removed the conservatives from power and brought in those who wanted change. The king was denounced and a new government was put into place. The people revolted against the government of Louis Philippe and blocked the streets and started riots Louis Blanch favored social reform June Rebellion aka June Days– revolt against sovereignty, wanted the wealth to be redistributed, Frenchman flocked to Paris from hundreds of miles away to crush the revolt. The men women and children of the lower class held their own for three days until the army put them down. 1500 killed Frenchmen elected Louis Napoleon to be head of the Second Republic. All French males could vote in his election. They were unsympathetic for the working class of France. Realism - Thought based on fact and data. Everything has order meaning and a place. Didn’t like the passion in romanticism Gustave Flaubert - Realist who was an author and artist. Wrote
