Furthermore, SCMS provides follow ­up on ­the ­ground support to WOM course participants at all provincial medical depots on warehouse operations management, storage, inventory control and distribution, support capacity building in quantification and forecasting of ARV requirements (SCMS, 2010). The results of SCMS WOM training have been substantial, WOM participants having transferred $2.1 million in ARVs independently among themselves since 2010 (Heavner, 2011). One of the keys to the latter strategy was the development of communication channels with key depot functional management teams in order to create an organized ARV delivery system.
