When we talk about “forces” in healthcare what comes to mind is the many advances in technology and delivery demographics. When we think about what healthcare was vs. what it is becoming today, we see that the last decade or two technology and medical advances have truly made a jump. During the COVID-19 pandemic we saw major leaps with healthcare technology. We can all agree that technology, diagnostic, medical treatments, and even medications have all come a long way.Patient demographics, the way in which healthcare is accessed. Those who may live in rural areas don’t have access to all of the specialties or even general practice medicines like thosein larger cities do. For my company selection I wanted to move forward with my company, Donor Network of Arizona, but instead I chose a pioneer in stem cell and cord blood research, Cryo-Cell International INC. This company does similar work with what I do, my current role with Donor Network of Arizona, a birth tissue donation program. Cryo-Cell International (CIK 000862692, SIC 0890) allows families to bank their babies cord blood, this is frozen and allows families to use this banked blood for later use (disease or illness). I chose this because when it comes to planning for the future of humanity, disease intervention and prevention, and scientific breakthroughs, Cry-Cell International INC is where it’s at. Simply, Cryo-Cell International INC’s mission is to “provide our clients with the premier cord blood and cord tissue cryopreservation service and to aid in the advancement of regenerative medicine” (Cryo-Cell, n.d.). Per Cryo-Cell International, INC’s website, they help more than 500,000 clients and service more than 87 countries. Cryo-Cell International, INC is treating diseases and invests in “new therapies using stem cells from cord blood and cord tissue enter into clinical trials for the treatment of chronic and life-threatening diseases such as autism,
