Journal # 21 Elegy For Jane The poem is about a girl who died and how these people are talking about her life. She seemed to be a good person but at some point seemed to lose herself. The poem is one of sadness and pride. They are sad that she is gone from their lives. They also are proud of the person that she was while she was alive. The imagery in the poem is very interesting. They say, “Oh, when she was sad, she cast herself down into such a pure depth.”
