There was a shift from working at home to bigfactories; the working conditions were life threatening and hadvery low pay. Women and children were employed when factoryowners found out they could pay them less. Some workers joinedtogether and created unions which were voluntary laborassociations.The Unions would ask for higher pay,better working conditions, and fewerhours. One of their tactics were strikeswhere workers refused to work untilthe demands were made. Unions alsoworked to better the lives of workingwomen and children. Speaking ofwomen, for most the IndustrialRevolution was a dramatic changebecause that was their first time in thework force. Unfortunately, women hadto compete with men for jobs and theywere paid way less. This outraged thewomen, and some began to leadreforms against this. This exposure ofpolitics to women caused thedemanding of suffrage and the right tovote.PoliticalThe Industrial Revolution caused many things to form such asurbanization. Urbanization is when people who live in the countryor work on farms would move into cites. A lot of peasants and thepoor lived in the country as farmers prior to urbanization. Theydid this because of the increase in food supply and thus so didthe population [increase].There were way more job opportunitiesin cities due to the technologicalupgrades being made. Even thoughfarmers moved out into the city, theywere still farmers in the city since food
