2Article ReviewTechnology has caused a number of impacts the society today. As technological advancesinnovation grows, the impact is said to be larger and larger. The article generally aims todetermine whether or not technology causes income inequality. Scholars have spearheadedresearch projects to examine technology and income aspects. Correlation of data and findingspoint out any relationship between technology and income inequalities. Five articles werereviewed so as to investigate the relationship.Article 1The article investigated the relationship between enhanced information communicationtechnologies and inequality in Africa. The article investigated this postulation using twoviewpoints. The first viewpoint suggested that despite technological and economic development, most of the countries in Africa are still poor economically. The second viewpoint outlines thatthe advancement in information communication technology enhances macroeconomic factorsand human development as well. For this reason, it is expected that the growing technologicalimpact in Africa will be a positive one. The researchers in the article collected data from 48countries in Africa. The data was collected between 10 years (2004 - 2014). The researcher alsolisted their independent and dependent variables ideally. Depend variables included Arkisonsindex, Palma ratio, and Gini's coefficient. The independent variable included all the informationcommunication technology indicators. The independent variables were mobile phonepenetration, internet penetration, broadband subscriptions, and the control variables likeeconomic conditions and political stability. The result of the article outlines several aspects of inequality and using the variableslisted above. For instance, the Gini coefficient and Arkisons index suggested that enhancing the
3internet penetration in Africa and increasing the broadband subscription would reduce inequality. For the Palma ratio, increasing the internet penetration and the use of mobile phones also reducesinequality as well. Nonetheless, there were certain implications for the suitable development ofobjectives and goals. These implications include the fact that the inequality rate in Africa isstatistically relevant. In addition, the penetration of the internet and other technological elementsin Africa is quite slow as compared to other parts of the world. The development in Africa is alsonot uniform, with some countries and regions developing at a quicker rate than others. The articlehas certain strengths and weaknesses in its internal and external evaluation. In the internalevaluation, the strengths include; the use of multivariate regression to integrate the technologyvariables, the variables of technology were also measured against the different aspects ofinequality, and the use of control variables as well. The weaknesses in the internal evaluation
