Ian Grazier Film Philosophy The Film Sweet Smell of Success falls under the category of film noir. It doesn’t have the characteristics of film noir to the strength that Double Indemnity does but it is a film noir movie non the less. The characteristics that make it film noir are, the time it was made, violent and aggressive characters, no happy ending, and a woman is the root of the main conflict in the movie. I personal opinion of this movie is that it is a well made movie, it kept the classes attention and had an interesting ending. However I noticed it did not incorporate elements of film we learned about to the sam extream degree of the other movies we screened. Im not saying it dident use any interesting elements, but it dident uses space, time, plot and story, implicit meaning etc as cleaverly as Double Indemnity for example. I will still review how the film did specifically incorporate these in this paper.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
