PICTURING POSSIBILITIES 2INTRODUCTIONPsalm 37: 3-4 “Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the Land and prosper. Take delight and he will give you your hearts desire”. According to Dave Whitehead, some people take this to mean that God will give us anything that we desire. That is not the pointof this Psalm. When we trust in the LORD to the point of delighting in him, our heart will go from carnal desires to wanting the right things. Then we will stop trying to find fulfillment in things that we don’t have and begin to enjoy the life that God has given us. God will give us the desires of heart, and those desires are good. Now and then we are facing a lot of challenges and we all know that finding hope in times of crisis is difficult. We let ourselves suffer and drown in problems without considering the presence of God. The center point of this essay is, “Do the people nowadays, rely on the verse in terms of finding possibilities or hopes?” In this research, we would like to study some ofthe issues which would be pertinent to gaining greater understanding to our chosen topic.Delight yourself in the Lord: The Double Cure For Our Fretting and Fulfilling Our Desires - In (Psalm 37:25 ) Davidthus speaks wise words of an a man after God's own heart who has spent much of his life dwelling in the presence of Jehovah. And so first let us observe that David uses the verb FRET 3 times in the first 8 verses (Psalm 37:1,7-8), interweaving it withGod's antidotes for fretting. In fact he exhorts us to do several things to counter fretting (Psalm 37:2) understand evildoers final fate, (Psalm 37:3 ). Trust in the Lord and Do good, its Cultivate faithfulness, (Psalm 37:5 ) Commit your way to the Lord, Trust Him,Rest in the Lord,( Psalm 37:7 )Wait patiently for Him/but one activity that is unique is the command to "Delight yourself in the Lord."
PICTURING POSSIBILITIES 3Notice that the verb fret has an interesting derivation from an Old English word fretan meaning to devour, which gives us a vivid picture of fretting, which is allowing something to "eat away" or "gnaw away" thus producing an envious, agitated, vexed or worried mind.
