College Freshmen and Mental HealthCollege is a completely different world from high school. In highschool, students are usually in a familiar setting and are surrounded byfamiliar faces. However, most freshmen choose a college in a completelydifferent area. Everything changes once a person gets out of high school.These circumstances can have a negative effect on a new student’s mentalhealth.First year college students are expected to maintain their grades.Unlike high school, in college each teacher is in a different building. Collegeprofessors might be difficult to meet up with and they may be too busy toanswer emails. Students also must become adjusted to their teacher’sstandards.
