Dr. P. Gilmore English 3, Sec. 30 RRJ #5 October 30, 2007 Discover Islam Project, “The Meaning of Happiness in Islam” Like the previous article about Islam, this article also shies away from the controversial topic of jihad. However, unlike the previous article, this one focuses on Islam as a way of life. While it also mentions “reliance on Allah,” it’s mentioned as a part of the way of life. I used to think Islam is a religion mostly based on rituals. Out of the Five Pillars of Islam, three of them, fasting during Ramadan, prayer, and the Hajj, are rituals. Therefore, it’s interesting to know the meaning of Islam as a way of life behind those rituals. As the author mentioned, these rituals are part of Islam as a way of life and are necessary to obtain spiritual health. However, no matter how important these rituals are, it’s even more important to live the Islamic way of life for Muslim to gain happiness through their religion.
