2IntroductionHaving provided a strategic proposal solution for CVS Health Corporation Company inthe first assessment, the following paper looks into the case study of how professionaldevelopment program can be offered using emotional intelligence to foster unity in the healthcare unit and be able to strengthen the interpersonal relationship among the health workers. Allthese aims to increase overall performance and enhance communication between the healthworkers and the patients.Emotional Intelligence & MotivationEmotional intelligence is essential to leaders working in any organization, especially inhealth care centers corporations. There are various challenges that health care face that iscomplex, and therefore they require emotional intelligence to manage any challenges that mayarise.Motivation and reinforcement are essential tools that managers use in an organization toachieve its objectives. Motivation serves as an encouragement for health workers to work harderfor their benefit if they want to realize their goals and objectives. Usually, motivation has a directrelationship with the performance of the employees in an organization. On the other hand,reinforcement can be defined to increase the incidence of measurable behavior. Managers canuse the following means of support to manage employee behavior (Amultan, 2014). Positivereinforcement where managers can give a positive response whenever an individual shows anexpected behavior; for instance, when an employee reports early to work, they should becommended in a positive way to encourage the same action to happen again. Some of the waysmanagers can implement positive reinforcement include monetary bonuses and rewards, some
3time off tips, promotions, giving accolades such as medals, and congratulatory messages fromthe bosses. By motivating employees, they will be able to increase efficiency in their business.Reinforcement through negative reinforcement is another tool that managers can employ;it does not necessarily serve as a means of punishment; however, it involves recognizing a staff'sgood performance by getting rid of some negative weakness instead of providing somethingpositive (Amultan, 2014). The other tool is punishment as a form of reinforcement; this theoryworks when there is a performance issue that needs ironing; for instance, when an employeeusually comes in late for work, they are punished by deduction on their next pay slip.
