WR150 Art and Politics Annotated Bibliography and Prospectus Due 4/8 Your work on your final essay begins with the annotated bibliography and prospectus assignment, which asks you to compile and assess research relevant to your final paper topic and begin to outline its main arguments and methods. 1. Prospectus: Write a brief (approx. 500-600 words, or 2 pages) explanation of your final essay topic. You may write in the first-person, but be sure to maintain a formal, academic tone and proofread for grammar and mechanics. (The prospectus will be graded on the basis of its clarity and grammatical correctness, as well as its ideas.) Provide your working thesis in the prospectus and aim to answer the following questions: -What is the main topic of your essay? Sub-topics? Is the scale of your research paper and the “burden of proof” appropriate to the assignment? - What will you argue in your essay? Does your topic permit you to include your own ideas and interpretations? - What method(s) will you use to support your thesis?
