Show your work for all calculations and be sure to include proper units where necessary. Any secondary resources need to be cited. One printed report is to be submitted at the START of your next laboratory period as well as a digital pdf version uploaded to Canvas. (1)GROUP: You will perform a t-test with the class data of Parameciummeasurements (wet vs.permanent mount). In preparation, demonstrate your understanding of this basic statistical test. Examine the resources on the course website (“Lab Resources” tab > “MS Excel & Statistics” link) as needed. Watch the video: Performing a t-test(a) What is the purpose of performing a t-test? (b)What type of data is required to perform t-test? Specifically, what assumptions are made? (c) What is the null hypothesis for a t-test? State the null hypothesis in general terms, and then in specific terms for the men-women height example shown in the video. (d)What is the difference between a two-tailed versus one-tailed test? (Slide 4) How does one decide which to use? Which is used in the men-women height example? Is it appropriate?
