Reuters released an article today that Boeing 737 Max jets have now found two more electrical problem areas, compounding the already weakened trust and disastrous past two years. (Rucinski, 2021) Boeing has been under heavy scrutiny since March 2017, for both good and bad reasons. In March 2017, Boeing received FAA certification for the 737 Max jets. Shortly thereafter, two in flight accidents caused loss of life in October 2018 In Indonesia and in March 2019 in Ethiopian. At that time, the FAA mandated the implementation of design changes within less than 30 days for Boeing to correct the fatal malfunctions. However, the FAA partners with other global regulators and finds that both disasters have strong likenesses. (Johnson, 2020). The FAA brought in a team of investigators and has grounded Boeing’s 737 Max jets. Boeing has lost millions in company stock as well as more in production due to being grounded and stopping production. As a result, Boeing took action by firing their CEO in December. Some of the blame is also being directed toward the U.S. air safety agent for also making mistakes. The regulators brought in by the FAA flagged dangerous areas which Boeing is focusing their efforts. The U.S. House of Representatives conducted an investigation finding Boeing and the FAA at fault in oversight and certification. The U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure brought forth new legislation changing the FAA aircraft certification process in efforts to eliminate these types of costly disasters. (Johnson, 2020). In light of the two latest electronical problems, Boeing must comply with U.S. regulations to address how to airlines can resolve the issues. Before Boeing can distribute those instructions, it must be approved by the regulators. Rucinski, T. (2021). Reuters . - found-on-some-boeing-737-max-sources/ar-BB1fJp7D?li=BBnbfcL Johnson, E. M.
