Kirsten Scarborough 11/4/12 English 109 Superhero Glitter Girl Since the day she was born her parents recognized there was a unique quality about her. Born atop the Eifel Tower in Paris, and immediately sprinkled with glitter is not the average childbirth by far. At an early age Addison’s parents realized her profound curiosity in listening to people’s hardships, comforting them, and lending her best piece of advice. Her parents additionally realized how big of heart she had; caring for those in need, fighting for equality, and trusting everyone. Addison held strong belief in the popular quote, “Everything happens for a reason.” At the age of fourteen Addison began to realize how many lives her advice and caring character had impacted. One afternoon her P.E. class had to run a timed mile for their physical fitness testing which she concluded in thirty seconds; this of course not only shocked herself, but her friends, family, and teacher as well. That afternoon as she was walking home she couldn’t help but become lost in thought about the recent unexplainable occurrences she had experienced. While wondering how on earth this happened Addison spotted a kitten stuck in a tree. Addison immediately felt regretful because knew she was an awful climber and that there was no hope of retrieving the kitten that way. Standing there thinking of another solution, Addison thought to herself, “if I could only fly things would be so much easier,” and just like that her body was raised into the air and the kitten was saved. After weeks of confining herself to a locked bedroom, racking her brain, and trying to fathom a valid explanation for these
unbelievable occurrences, she stumbled upon herself; her calling was now clear. Addison
