Concept of Time notes Intro Eternalism o Philosophical approach to the ontological nature of time o All points in time are equally “real” o As opposed to the presentist idea that only the present is real Modern advocates often take inspiration from the way time is modeled as a dimension in the theory of relativity Gives similar ontology to that of space Time is just another dimension Future events are “already there” No objective flow of time Problems with the flow of time Conventionally, time is divided into three distinct regions; the "past", the "present", and the "future". o Using that representational model, the past is generally seen as being immutably fixed, and the future as undefined and nebulous. o As time passes, the moment that was once the present becomes part of the past; and part of the future, in turn, becomes the new present. o In this way time is said to pass, with a distinct present moment "moving" forward into the future and leaving the past behind.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
