Texas Tech University Personal Fitness and Wellness Diet and Exercise 1112 Sections 301, 302, 303 Faculty Information : Instructor: Brett Young Office: REC Center, Office 12 Phone: 742-3380 E-mail: (I can best be reached by e-mail) Office Hours: M/W, 10-11 AM Course Information: Meeting Time: M/W: 301- 8-8:50 M/W: 302- 9-9:50 M/W: 303- 10-10:50 Location: REC 205 Required Materials: Towards A Healthier You, webCT program that is available in the campus bookstore Spiral Notebook: for notes and activity log ID Card: You must bring your student ID card to all classes. If you are not allowed into the REC because you do not have your ID, you will be counted absent. Dress Code : Athletic attire should be worn to class on Wednesday. Work out clothing usually comfortable clothing that permits easy movement and can get dirty. No jeans or open toed shoes. Course Description and Objective (Goal/Purpose): The goal of this course is for students to gain a functional understanding of the importance and relevance of exercise and dietary modification in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Students will be taught about and will participate in exercise and diet modification. Students with learn and understand basic concepts of fitness and wellness, and how they are applied to daily life. Assignments Exercise Log-Students are expected to sample the variety of exercise actives available at the Rec Center. The type, duration and a short description of how the student felt about it are required for the full grade. If you are unfamiliar with a type certain activity just ask for help.
