Andrew Holzman 4/12/07 Binewski Bummer “At bottom every man knows well enough that he is a unique being, only once on this earth; and by no extraordinary chance will such a marvelously picturesque piece of diversity in unity as he is, ever be put together a second time” Nietzsche is right to some extent. However, Jung thinks that people are not necessarily unique and they are actually all drawn from a very similar mold. In fact, he believed that everybody could be character typed into 8 different categories. Even though she is a bald, albino, hunchbacked, dwarf, Miss Olympia Binewski, of Katherine Dunn’s Geek Love, also fits into Jung’s personality types. As the narrator of the novel, Olympia rarely speaks about herself; but it is still clear that she is ISTJ. Olympia is very introverted and is a strong judger, rather than a perceiver, she is an excellent listener and she always has a plan that she needs to follow, these two traits end up being killing her. As Geek Love progresses, Olympia also progresses from somewhat of an extrovert, to a very strong introvert. At the beginning of the novel Oly is happiest when she is with her brother Arty, and this makes perfect sense considering how tightly knit the Binewski family is.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
