Diet Analysis Project PURPOSE The purpose of the Diet Analysis Semester Project is to help you take an organized closer look at your food, beverage and physical activity habits. In doing so, you will be able to determine what changes you can make for better lifelong health. INSTRUCTIONS 1. Food and Beverage Records: Enter all foods and beverages consumed for 3 consecutive days. Note how they were prepared (baked, fried, broiled, fresh, etc) and note quantity consumed. Do not simply put a number for quantity, but use measurements (cups, ounce) unless it is just an item like an apple. Convert campus food items like wraps, or other specialty items into actual foods. For example, a chicken Caesar wrap should be listed as a 9 inch tortilla, 4 ounces of chicken breast, Caesar dressing, ½ cup lettuce. Do NOT enter supplements (vitamin/mineral, sports, power bars). We are looking at your food intake, not your supplement intake. You may use 2 or more pages for one day if needed. Here is an Example: Meal (B, L, D, Snack) Food/Beverage Quantity How Prepared (Baked, Broiled, Fried, Fresh, Canned, Frozen, etc) L Tossed Salad – Iceberg Lettuce 2 cups Fresh Tomato 1/2 Cucumber 1/4 Italian Dressing 2 Tbsp Jar 2. Physical Activity Records: Enter your physical activity for 7 consecutive days. This includes walking to class but does not include sitting in class. You do not need to print out 7 separate pages. You may enter the day (1 – 7) in the left column and use one or more pages depending on the number of
