Lab 11– Microbiology In this experiment we learned techniques in microbiology, especially pertaining to the study of  bacteria. We looked at prepared slides of stained bacteria under a microscope. We tested which  conditions allowed bacteria to grow.  Bacteria are prokaryotic and contain no nucleous. We learned about three different  shapes of bacteria – a) bacilli b) cocci and c) spirilla. It is important to learn about the different  types of bacteria in order to identify which ones are harmful. We also discussed antiobiotics  which kill bacteria. If the antibacteria is around the bacteria for too much time however, the  bacteria will become resistant to it and will mutate. During this lab we did a few experiments : For the first experiment we smothered E. coli (bacteria) across a platea and tested 4  different antibiotics. Whichever antibiotic, a week later, had the least amount of bacteria in its

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
