2 Content Analysis for Cultural Competency Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Analyzation) When it comes to reading, and teaching it is important to understand “What we are teaching the children, is it important to know what they are reading, and looking at, and is everything available to be seen with correct standards” (Electric Literature, 2019). Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a classic story that was written in the 1800’s, but years later in 1937 Disney Enterprise had decided that they wanted to make this story into a movie and a musical to be loved by children. The problem with the book it was lacking illustrations of diversity, and only one character has been depicted to be strong but may have a dark feature. The Huntsman who was Royalty, described in the story to have dark hair, with sharp looking features. The description of him made it sound that anyone with dark hair, strong, and sharp features could be a bad person and that they should be avoided. Snow White was described to having smooth skin (almost like porcelain) and because of her pale skin this is how she got her name “Snow White.” She has the lightest skin, and was the most beautiful of all the land, but was it hinting that people with light and fair skin are more beautiful than any other person.
