Pi would not have lived without his will to survive. Pi’s tenacious pursuit for survival preserve both his physical, mental and spiritual well-being. The theme of the Life of Pi is mental and physical survival on the ocean. Pi survived many things, his family was moving to canada with his zoo animals during the journey the ship broke down and started to sink. Pi while surviving a shipwreck was also with a Bengal tiger on his lifeboat. Than Pi traveled on his own on a lifeboat for 227 days with minimal resources in the middle of the ocean. This shipwreck all happened way too fast for Pi but with his will to survive and curiosity he would’ve never gotten out alive. Pi woke up in the middle of the nigjt and went straight to go look at what happened and if he never got up he would’ve sunk with the ship.
