BIOL204: Genetics Spr 14 Corn NAME: Alexis Weston 1. The corn cob provided is the F2 from a cross of a yellow kerneled pure breeding strain and a purple kerneled pure breeding strain. Count all of the kernels, keeping track of the phenotype (purple or yellow). Using the letter P for this (purple) locus, diagram the P-generation cross with results and phenotypes, the F1 cross with results and phenotypes, and the actual numbers and ratios from your F2 corn cob. Make sure that your nomenclature distinguishes which allele of the P locus is dominant and which is recessive. Use chi-square to test your data against your proposed genetic model (hypothesis), make sure that you don't reject your hypothesis. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
