Mark Jennings Dr. Cuellar  Reflection Paper #2 2/23/14 In 1951 one of the biggest cases in Supreme Court history began to form. Pete  Hernandez was a Mexican man living in Texas and was accused of murdering a co- worker over a verbal dispute. The case hit trial and the defense of Hernandez found there  main defense for Hernandez is that the fact that the case was almost a mistrial and an  unfair biased by the court system, due to the fact that Mexican-Americans were not  granted the right to be placed on the jury seats. The case was so huge that it took its way  all the way to the Supreme Court, where the case was a blockbuster case known as  “Hernandez vs. Texas”.  The case was the first case in history where a racial group placed their identity on trial. The effects of the case changed the label of Mexican-Americans  and the view of all racial discrimination in the United States Justice System.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
