Background Knowledge Survey I knew more than half of these questions on this background knowledge survey. The answers that I knew I had learned from previous classes in high school. The things that I learned from this survey are that synapses occurs when memory forms. Also, the cow pox disease was used to develop the first effective vaccine for smallpox. Another thing I learned was that the goal of modern medicine is to maintain health.

Skin Summary Paragraphs An example of a skin structure is the prickle cell layer found in the epidermis layer of the skin. The function of it is to strengthen the skin by binding the cells together with tiny filaments. Another skin structure is the basal cell layer, also found in the epidermis.
