Performance objective The student will show skill and knowledge to setup personal work goals, set and meet work priorities (i.e whatever task is urgent and or important). Assessment description Using a position description (job description), you will set work goals/aim and prioritise/order things/tasks work goals. You will then develop/build two work plans to achieve two work goals. You are required to keep a journal/record containing your reflections/thoughts on and explanation of the process of managing work priorities. Procedure 1. Review your job description and your organisation’s business plans, business goals, policies and procedures. Based on your job description (and following your organisation’s business plans, goals, and applicable policies and procedures), setup four to five goals (including both personal and team goals). In your journal, describe how and why you established goals. Explain the value of personal and team goal-setting (setting goals and aims) in an organisation. 3. Develop KPIs 1 to measure performance (i.e how well you do the job/task) related to work goals. In your journal, describe: a. How the KPIs will be used to measure/check goal-related performance. b. How you will do your job under changing conditions/situations and events. Give specific/clear examples. c. How, given your own personal strengths and weaknesses (how well you can do something or not), you will make the most of or reduce these problems from affecting your work and your work plans. 4. Consider/think of a range/number of activities/tasks to advance/progress work goals. Prioritise possible activities. Choose two work goals to develop work plans for. In your journal, describe the process you took to prioritise activities. Describe competing demands (other tasks/duties that need your time as well) and how you plan to manage these to achieve goals. 5. Referring /using the template provided in Appendix 1 as an example, use Microsoft Word to develop two work plans to achieve the two goals you have prioritised. In your journal, describe the steps you took to developing your plans to manage work priorities (important & urgent tasks). Describe how you have used the plans to manage time efficiently/usefully. 6. In your journal, describe: a.
