First Paper LJ 283 Due September 24 th  by 9PM. Please email to  [email protected]  and mark subject  “LJ283 Clip Analysis” Please name your file including your last name and  “Clip 1” or similar identifier.  This is a two-page essay structured in a somewhat rigid way compared to  some essay assignments. Approximately one page will be a detailed description of one aspect of a segment from  I was born but…  or  Osaka  Elegy.  Approximately  ¾  of a page will be your analysis of the meanings  produced by this scene. The remaining portion would be an introduction and  conclusion that frame this, telling what you will do and what you ended up  finding. Here are the steps that I envision you taking with more detail about  each part. Your own writing process is your own, but you are required to make  the decisions described in #1 and #2:   1.) Look at the clips posted on the Geddes site for  Osaka Elegy  and  I was  born but…  Avoid the one(s) we focused on in-group discussion during class, and choose one that you want to look at closely for your paper.
