1 Hanqing (Azura) Ge LJ 283 Movie Clip Analysis Sep 23 2013 Clip Analysis on Osaka Elegy The Movie Osaka Elegy is about the unfortunate life story of the modern girl Ayako. Noticed that the style of its photography in the last clip, Froyo Shoujo , is similar to Ozaki’s description in Osmanthus , the question raised— What and how are the Modern Girls perusing and granting wishes? The photography in the clip Froyo Shoujo is quite meticulous. The two 10 second long shot in the beginning of the clip tells who, where, and when the scene is presenting to us. As Ayako standing alone on the bridge looking away in a rainy night, it is clear that she felt desperate and helpless. After transferring from Ayako’s perspective to a long- range perspective on her, the camera move closer face Ayako to focus on her movement in the next shot when she grab the leftover money in her pocket and tossed them into the river.
