Field of use: To filter waste products and other solutes from the blood stream. 2. Performance: 2.1: The dialyzer is between 26 cm in length. 2.2: The dialyzer is around 15 cm in width. 2.3: The dialyzer is cylindrical with a blood inlet at the top and a blood outlet at the bottom. The inlet has a bearing that spins with the dialyzer. 2.4: There is a dialysate inlet and outlet at the top to allow solute flow through the blood. The inlet has a bearing that spins with the dialyzer. 2.5: The dialyzer has a motor to circulate the blood. 2.6: The motor of the dialyzer moves at about 100 rpm. 2.7: The semi-permeable membrane has a wall thickness of about 40 micrometers and a length of 30 cm. 2.8: The total surface area of membrane in the dialyzer is at least 2 meters square. 2.9: Dialysate flows through the membrane at 20 L/min.
