Review of Reading- Article 24 1. This article was about a family’s experience with DSS and an organization called the Parenting Partnership Program. The mother of the family, Betty had a drug problem, the father, Bob was unable to work due to medical condition and their children were often unsupervised. Reports came in that their children were seen wandering the streets late at night, and DSS performed a home investigation. They found the home to be filthy, there was no food in the house and there were often a lot of people coming in and out of the house. The children were removed from the home and placed in the care of their grandmother. A DSS social worker, Jason and a worker from the Parenting Partnership Program met with the parents to discuss a plan of action for them. The worker from the Parenting Partnership Program helped Bob and Betty find and obtain an apartment, she also helped them with parenting education and discipline techniques. The children were placed back with their parents, and the oldest daughter, Anne was pregnant. Bob and Betty expressed their frustrations with DSS, that they never should have placed
