Phase 2
For phase 2 of the network implementation, Jan and Kim will be adding the following equipment
to the network
1)
24 additional workstations
2)
3 additional servers
3)
3 additional printers
The addition of this equipment will give us the following totals of equipment at the IT
Consulting business
1)
32 Windows XP systems (1 in Jan’s office, 1 in Kim’s office, 30 in cubicles)
2)
4 Windows Server 2008 (in computer room)
3)
4 printers (in computer room)
In phase 1, the network was over provisioned and was designed to use Class ‘C’ network
addressing. This allowed us to set up two subnets, each with 254 possible IP addresses.
Currently, the subnet for the workstations have already allocated 9 of its 254 addresses and the
printer subnet has allocated 2 of its 254 addresses. This shows that we have planned for plenty of
growth locally at the current building. We have also pre-planned for future expansion for new
