1. Links between the Dust Bowl and the Green Revolution: -”Only within the moment of time represented by the present century has one species— man—acquired significant power to alter the nature of his world. During the past quarter century this power has not only increased to one of disturbing magnitude but it has changed in character. The most alarming of all man's assaults upon the environment is the contamination of air, earth, rivers, and sea with dangerous and even lethal materials “ ( Rachels-Carson of Today) Both events were triggered by human's sudden intervention and manipulation of the environment, causing untold changes that it could have on the given environment (maybe even the entire world). -” Green Revolution refers to a series of research, development, and technology transfer initiatives, occurring between the 1940s and the late 1970s, that increased agriculture production around the world, beginning most markedly in the late 1960s. It forms a part of the 'neo-colonial' system of agriculture wherein agriculture was viewed as more of a commercial sector than a subsistence one. “
