Danielle Rendina Dance 35 Compania Nacional de Danza 2 The Compania Nacional de Danza 2 , directed by Nacho Duatpo, was comprised of three pieces. The first piece was called Remansos and the dance seemed to narrate a romance. The movements were synchronized and mirrored by the male and the female dancers, which gave the dance a geometric appearance. Their movements also seemed synchronized because they were wearing similar costumes. Both men and women wore leotards; however, the men wore short sleeve tops in differing colors and the women wore a dark red long sleeve top. For the first part of the performance, there seemed to be specific gender roles. For example, only the female dancers were lifted by their male counter parts. The women also moved in more flowing and gentle manner, which contrasted with the male dancers’ slightly more stiff and powerful movements. The third part of the first performance involved only male dancers and a single red rose.
