Corbin Dean Unit 2 Thought Questions 3. The five most important ways of establishing personal trust, I feel, are as follows: a. Following through on promises – I believe that to keep somebody’s trust you must not abuse it. This means if I make a promise to a person, I must keep that promise to the best of y ability. If I do not keep the promise, it is pretty much guaranteed that I will lose that person’s trust, probably for good. b. Do not reveal confidences told to you – basically, if I am told a secret by somebody, and I decide to spread that secret around, then that person will probably not tall me another secret again, hence losing personal trust in me. This is a simple establishment of trust. c. Develop a reputation for loyalty – This is also an important act of establishing trust. If people think you are a loyal person, they are more likely to trust you with certain things, and even trust you to back them up in certain situations. d.
