Nathan Dewey Title: Bending Testing of Al Alloy 2024-T351 Equipment Specimen : Al Alloy 2024-T351 Abstract A bending test was performed on a standard 1” x .25” x 7” specimen of 2024-T351 Aluminum- Copper Alloy. Weights, in approximately 1 lb. increments, were hung from one end of the specimen, while the other remained held in place. The procedure was performed in order to find values for the Elastic Modulus and Shear Stress. The value for Elastic Modulus was determined to be 1.067E8 psi, a .64% difference from the handbook value, and the Shear Stress were, on average, a . .42% difference from there “handbook” values.
