WEEK 8 CHECKPOINT 2 Week 8 Checkpoint The FDCA program is very important to the Census Bureau due to the fact it has such an impact on states and its citizens. The Census has many functions and helps gather important information that is needed to help the government in it process of distributing federal funds needed to sustain the communities and its programs. Once every 10 years, as mandated by the U.S. Constitution, the Census Bureau has to conduct a count of the nations population and housing and this is known as the Decennial Census. The information that is compiled during the Decennial Census is used in many important ways. The government uses the population counts from each state to help determine the number of congressional seats that each individual state will have in the House of Representatives. The states also use less larger area population counts for making changes to congressional and state legislative district boundaries. As mentioned
