Camelle SukhnandanPrimary Source Assignment #4ASU 100I decided to look at items #1 and #4. The first object is a brown ceramic vase. It is an incredibly detailed painting depicting the Storm God. It would have been made by craftsmen in compounds during the Early Classic Period. The vases would have been hand-formed out of clay by the artisans and then cooked or roasted in a fire pit. They would have been baked, plastered, and then painted over in the style of a wall fresco. Because this is the most common form of pottery in Teotihuacan, I would assume that these vases were used by everyone inthe city and surrounding communities. It was discovered in a middle-class apartment. Object #4 is obsidian. Obsidian is a volcanic glass that was highly valued in Teotihuacan. You could also find a vast amount of obsidian in Teotihuacan. It looks to have been carved with the idea of being used asa blade, something to be fastened to the end of a stick and changed into a spear. It is amazing how much detail can be seen in the artwork,
