Introduction Imagine walking down the street and deciding to have seat on a public bench. Suddenly, you hear someone shout “get off my bench!” and all at once what you think of as public territory is being controlled by a homeless individual. Seeing someone sleeping on a bench, digging through the trash, or wearing clothes that look as if they just picked them up from the middle of the road, could catch someone off guard on a normal day. Many people are aware of the fact that there are many homeless people around the world, but not a lot of people would know how to react when they encounter a homeless person up close and personal. The fact of the matter is, this situation is real and many people in this situation have to live with the fact that this is their natural environment . This is not a living circumstance that anyone would choose if they had the choice, but it is clear that things happen over time, and the streets are what they begin to call home.
