Deaf Culture Event 1 My first deaf event of this semester was different than the two that I experienced last semester. First, I had never been to the Pittsburgh Deaf Association Club before and that’s where I went this time. It was different than I expected it to be. It was in an area that didn’t seem to be so good, but I went with another classmate. We had to ring the bell to get in, and then I signed to the guy that we were there for PINGO. We signed the guest book and then went in and signed with some of the people upstairs. They asked us who our teacher was, and if we knew Deb Hast. We were a little confused about that, because she wasn’t there, so we didn’t know why he asked us that. We then ventured downstairs into the PINGO game. We sat at the end of the table, and everyone kind of just looked at us. We said hi, but they weren’t too interested in signing with us for the most part. One of the guys next to us tried to explain the game, because we had no idea what it was. We sat and watched the game, while learning signs
