The Vietnam War saw Hippies, antiwar protests and cultural issues during the 70’s.I had five uncles that went to fight our first televised war. With an estimated $167 billion spent on the Vietnam War eroded living standards from the late 60s well into the 90s and it changed the way we viewed our government. The media caused a large shift in the perspective of war and our country was torn apart. As the public became aware of the issues of war through the media it became a time bomb of reaction. The media swayed the public with the addition of television journalism adding a new depth to war and how people perceived what they were told because they could see it. As the general public was protesting and war journalists fighting against censorship we began to verbalize about our government's misuse of power. The violence of war itself in the media has changed the behavior of our society leaving our perception of informed a little bitter since that period of social turmoil.
