Material from chapter 1 to 8 will be covered. Course Description This course deals with concepts and methods corresponding to the areas of descriptive statistics, probability and inferential statistics. Calculator : A scientific calculator with statistical capabilities (TI-30xa) is required. Graphing calculators are not allowed for exams. (no cell phones) Important Dates Test 1 : Tuesday, May 27th, chapters 1-3, 4.1-4.3 Test 2 : Thursday, June 12th, chapters 5-6, section 4.6 Final Exam :         Thursday , June 19 th , chapters 1-8 (cumulative) Class Begin : Monday, May12, 2014

Examinations and Grading Policy There will be two partial tests and a cumulative final exam . The final exam is mandatory. Each test will be worth 100 points and the final exam will be worth 200 points. Thus, the final grade will be based on a total of 400 points. The score for the final exam may replace your lowest partial test score. There will be NO MAKE-UPS before the final ; some exceptions made by FIU policies (jury duty, religious holidays, and athlete competition) must be informed to the Instructor in a timely manner.
