MCCG 2017 will stream corporategovernance practices into two categories –CoreandCore+.Companies are expected todisclose their adherence to theCorepractices on an ‘apply or explain an alternative’ basis,which encourages greater thought process in undertaking the practices, and in makingDatuk Ranjit Ajit Singh, the Securities Commission Chairman was smiling when he read theASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard CountryReport and Assessments 2013-2014report released by theASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) on 18 June 2014. Thescorecard was first introduced in 2011 as one of the initiatives to raise corporate governancestandards and practices of ASEAN public-listed companies (PLCs). The report highlights theprofile of well-governed listed firms for greater international visibility.
