New York: Allyn Course Description: A study of the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of the individual from puberty to maturity plus an examination of the problems of adolescence as viewed by the adolescent, parent, the psychologist, and the teacher. Course Objective: 1. To gain knowledge and understanding of some of the major theories and current research on adolescent development. 2. To integrate theory and practice, research and experience. 3. To analyze the experiences described in the case studies as they relate to adolescent development theory. Class Format: The course will consist of discussions and assignments based on the readings in the text and supplemental notes posted on blackboard.
