Unformatted text preview: MATH 191, Sections 1 and 3 Calculus I Fall 2007 Getting Specific About Specific Heat This first team project will ask you to work together with your groups members to develop an under- standing of a certain mathematical model for specific heat , defined roughly as the capacity of a certain material to absorb heat. A successful completion of this project will involve an understanding of mathematical models, limits, and the definition and interpretation of a derivative. Please provide complete answers to each of the questions written below. Except for the exercises in which you are asked to use Mathematica , you may simply write your solutions by hand. However, typing the narrative portions of your work, perhaps leaving room to hand-write more complicated formulas, would be very much appreciated! Each team must submit a single set of solutions . Each member of your team will receive a grade computed from the quality of the work submitted (see the written-work rubric provided separately, or on-line, for more details on how this is measured) and the results of a short feedback survey I will provide at the conclusion of the project. This survey will be your opportunity to let me know how well you feel your team worked together, and if there were certain members of your...
