Daniel’s Character Traits in The Bronze Bow Everyone, even fictional characters, have their own unique traits. These traits are what makes someone special. The Bronze Bow follows a boy named Daniel who has a lot of hate for the Romans. A bronze bow was mentioned in the Bible in Psalm 18:34 in which David can bend a bow made of bronze. One of the book’s main character says that “when God strengthens us we can do something that seems impossible.” Throughout the book, Daniel is shown to be very loyal, angry, and clear-headed. Loyalty is Daniel’s most dominate trait and is showed often throughout the book. He shows loyalty to Rosh (a leader of Zealots who openly show hate for the Romans), Joel (his friend how is studying to be a rabbi that also hates the Romans), Malthace/Thacia (Joel’s sister), and Leah (his sister). One example is when he defends Rosh when he is called a robber and says, “A good man…. he took me to live with him” (pg. 7). Daniel lost his mom who died from being out in the cold after her husband, Daniel’s father, was crucified by the Romans so he was taking in by Rosh who was very impressionable on Daniel who followed him blindly and without much question. Another example is when Daniel said, “I vowed I would pay them back with my whole life” (pg. 82). This shows his loyalty to his dead parents and uncle who was also crucified with his dad and that Daniel wants to get vengeance for them. Throughout the book Daniel drifts from
