Energy -capacity to perform work .      Kinetic  –energy possessed by matter because of its mass and speed (light energy).    Potential -Energy that is stored  and potentially available for use because of it’s location and arrangement.   1 st  law therm -energy can’t be created nor destroyed, and is converted from  one form to another.   2 nd  law therm -when energy is changes form, some useful energy is degraded to lower quality more dispersed less useful (energy to  heat). Heat is a type of kinetic energy, a product of all conversions, randomized (aimless molec movem).  Entropy - a measure of disorder or randomness.  Endergonic -energy in, reactant less than product(photosy).   Exergonic -energy out, reactant more than prod (cell resp).  Chemical energy -a form of  potential energy possessed by molecules of food.   ATP -Adenosine triphosphate 1 organic mol+ 3 phosphates, ADP left behind, energizes other  molecules by transferring phosphate groups (are negatively charged).  ATP cycle - ATP restored by adding a phosphate group back to ADP, chem.  Energy regens cells supply of ATP.  Enzymes -proteins that lower a reactions activation energy.
