1984Recently, I read George Orwell’s novel “1984”, a book warning the future generationabout the world might occur. The story was realistically petrifying; the alarmingdescriptions about the telescreens and the Ministry of Love seemed very convincing.And, it was interesting to see the portrayal of the world in the eyes of someone back inthe early 1900’s. After reading this book as well as novel “The giver”, I realized that it isimpossible for a perfect utopia to exist, presuming that it was made in hands of humanbeings. But, definitely I do think that the world portrayed in 1984 is extremely morefrightening, and the one portrayed in “The Giver” is closer to a positive utopia.What made the book intriguing was that, the readers knew that Winston was doomedfrom the beginning of the story. However, what we was unsure to us was when he boundto get caught by the party and whom was exactly the thought police. What had reallysurprised me at the end, was when we found that Mr. Charrington was a thought police;
