The GiverRecently, I read Lois Lowry's novel “The Giver”. The book was about an idealistic utopiansociety, that is tranquil and argument-free. And where everyone gets along well and is treatedthe same, with respect. The main character is Jonas, who is selected for the very respectable jobof the next Giver. It is then when he sees the world, in the way he never could or would haveseen before. He now sees colors and emotions and feels great pity that his friends or family arenot able to relate to it. But also feels immense pain and languish through the process of memorytransmitting as he and the Giver are the only ones who has to carry the burden.First when I read the book, I was so surprised and shocked by the smoothness and peace withinthe society, with no terrorists or robbers we our constantly afraid of these days. But, it was onlylater when I realized where I realized the hidden threat; where humans are no more than robots
