The amount of light that is transmitted through the sample will give you its absorption. To identify what colors are being absorbed, you can insert the most concentrated solution. Set the concentration in units of molarity to collect data on the absorbance of each solution. You will match the point of the concentration to its absorbance for the data to be correctly plotted. Make sure that there is a good amount of time for the absorbance to stabilize before recording the amount. The result on the graph will be linear, due to the absorbance increasing as the concentration increases.
